For a more savory start, the breakfast burrito is a favorite, packed with eggs, bacon, and all the right fixings. It's one of those meals that hits the spot whether you're starting your day or enjoying a late morning. But it’s not just about breakfast-lunch at Cafe On The Corner is equally delightful. The club sandwich is stacked with fresh ingredients, and their homemade soup of the day is the perfect pairing, especially when Pittsburgh's weather turns chilly.

Plus, they make an effort to check in on you just the right amount, so you never feel ignored but never too crowded either. It’s clear that they care about making each visit special.

There's a reason the gumbo is their star attraction. It's delicious! The cornbread that comes with a bowl is also amazing and pairs well with the gumbo.

First - the food. I’ve been about four times now and everything has been delicious, but the gumbo is without exaggeration one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The proportions of contents and blend of spices have been perfected. The desserts are also homemade and top notch, worth every penny and then some. On top of the very reasonably priced, exquisite food, the owner is always a genuine pleasure to interact with. This is just the best possible example of what a community business should be. Come eat or grab some food from here and I’m certain you’ll be very happy you did!

We come down for lunch whenever we are in the area. They are known for the gumbo which is delicious, but we have never had a bad meal. Mac n cheese, greens, yams, were all great. Our friend liked the ribs. The owner Mike is a great guy as well.

I had the most wonderful experience. I called 2 weeks prior to needing our apartments communities holiday party! From the initial phone call to the day of the party was great. They made the whole process a breeze, while keeping in touch throughout the 2 weeks! They accommodated a service for 80 people, delivered the food right when they said they would while delivering it nice and hot in food warmers. They set everything up and went over every dish with me to ensure the order was complete and correct! My residents all loved the food and encouraged me to have them cater again next year! Thanks again for the wonderful experience and keep on cooking on!

I swept in to grab some takeout gumbo for my girlfriend and I and truly enjoyed my plate. I know there's not a lot of gumbo options in the city but this was exactly what I was craving and I could have it again once a month or more. Sometime, I'd like to have a sit down experience there because the chef was very friendly with me, but the hours make it a bit rough for that. I'd recommend anyone try it and I'll be back again soon, especially as it gets colder!

Absolutely loved this place! I read the ratings about the gumbo so had to try it. The ratings did not disappoint. The gumbo was on point. Seasons were perfect. The amount of large shrimp cooked perfectly was a huge surprise! The owners made me feel so welcomed as soon as I walked through the door. The deserts looked so good but I didn't have any. Hope to get up that way again soon so I can try other things prepared by these great people.

Finding this place was an accident, but the food and hospitality was well worth it. You gotta try their gumbo— it was so good! They give you 16 oz and they absolutely load it with chicken, shrimp, rice and vegetables. And the cornbread was good too! I left full and satisfied. The owner was so nice. Please go here, support a local business, you will not leave disappointed.
